The Music Service and Education Hub is committed to providing instrumental and group tuition to Special Schools in the City. Behind the scenes a great deal of training, evaluation and support is ongoing to ensure we provide the very best service possible. An exciting new project “Our Music” has been underway since September in two of Wolverhampton’s Special Schools. Music Service teachers have been working with young musicians to develop their confidence, group-working, awareness of the needs of others, as well as their own musical interests and skills. Young musicians will be working towards completion of Arts Award by the summer and will have opportunities to explore a wide range of musical styles through listening, performing and composing their own music.
Additionally we also offer bespoke events. In 2017 our focus for the BBC 10 Pieces initiative was SEN/D based.
Please see our SEN/D events page for further details .
Additionally Wolverhampton’s online support resource for Curriculum music now has a dedicated SEN/D section offering schools access to high quality curriculum teaching resources, training and support. The resources offers a complete curriculum for both specialist and non-specialist teachers including complete schemes of work, lessons, planning, guidance, support, assessment and easily accessible and modern resources.
